Points view parameters

The
Points
view includes these parameters:
TIP:
If the connection is configured for Rack, the diagnostic configuration and I/O data are not supported. If the connection is configured for Data, the diagnostic configuration and I/O data are supported. The supported diagnostics are determined by the catalog number.
Parameter
Description
Output State During
Program Mode
Specifies the behavior of each output when the controller transitions to Program mode.
  • Off
. Output is 0 or OFF in Program mode.
  • On
. Output is 1 or ON in Program mode.
  • Hold
. Output maintains last state in Program mode.
Output State During
Fault Mode
Specifies the behavior of the output of each point after a communication fault occurs and the device enters Communications Fault mode.
  • Off
. Output is 0 or OFF in Communications Fault mode.
  • On
. Output is 1 or ON in communications Fault mode.
  • Hold
. Output maintains current level in Communications Fault mode.
Enable Diagnostics for
Output Verify
Verifies that the actual state of an output is the same as the commanded state, when the commanded state was ON. A fault is detected when the output point is erroneously off after is was commanded to be ON. This diagnostic is available only when an output point is commanded to be ON.
Enable Diagnostics for
No Load
Enables the detection of the absence of field wiring or a missing load. This diagnostic is enabled only when an output point is commanded to be OFF.
Enable Diagnostics for
Field Power Loss
Enables the detection of the loss of field power to the digital output device. This diagnostic is available only for 1756 Digital AC diagnostic output devices.
Enable Diagnostics Latching
Configures each point on the device to latch diagnostic members so that they remain set after they are triggered.
Pulse Test
Verifies output circuit functionality without changing the state of the output load device. The pulse test turns on the output and ensures that it comes on when the command is issued. The device detects the change in the output before the output load device has enough time to change its state.
When Communication Fails in Program Mode
Specifies the behavior of the outputs if communications fail in Program mode:
  • Leave outputs in Program Mode state.
  • Change outputs to Fault Mode state.
