Upgrade a project

You can open a project that was created with a previous version of
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
 with later a version by upgrading the project. During the upgrade,
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
 creates a backup copy of the original version of the project.
IMPORTANT: After the upgrade, you can no longer open the project with the previous version of
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
. To restore an incorrectly upgraded project, see Restore a project.
  1. Open a project created with a previous version of
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio
    .
    A message appears to request an upgrade of the modules in use.
  2. Select
    Upgrade
    .
    A detailed report of the upgrade process appears.
  3. After reviewing the report, select
    Continue
     to confirm that the project should be upgraded.
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
 upgrades and opens the project. In case of any issues, see Troubleshoot upgraded projects.
