System uses independent cart technology to improve productivity in medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing
MILWAUKEE — A Rockwell Automation intelligent motion system that can enhance productivity and throughput in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing will be on display at the SLAS2018 conference and exhibition in San Diego, California, Feb. 3-7.
The MagneMover LITE intelligent conveyor system will be featured in two Rockwell Automation customer booths: Tek-Matic Inc. Booth #1151 and Biosero Booth #929. Attendees can learn how the system’s independent cart technology and fast, flexible motion capabilities can outperform conventional belt-and-chain conveyors. They can also learn how the system is deployed in a range of life-sciences applications, such as sterile and aseptic filling, laboratory and assembly automation, and end-of-line packaging.
“The MagneMover LITE system uses independent movers that can be modified without manual changeover,” said Neil Bentley, product line management, MagneMotion, Rockwell Automation. “The use of standard industrial communication protocols and software-configured move profiles also improve productivity and flexibility for machine builders.”
Traditional motion-control system mechanical design can require time-consuming retooling. This labor can cause costly downtime in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing operations. Intelligent motion systems like the MagneMover LITE system speed up changeovers and use fewer moving parts to help reduce downtime.
