I deleted the Authenticated Users group from the directory
If the
Windows
Authenticated Users
group is deleted from the FactoryTalk
Local Directory or FactoryTalk
Network Directory, you might find that users cannot log on to the FactoryTalk Directory
without being prompted for a user name and password.Use these steps to add the
Authenticated Users
group.To add the
Windows
-linked group, "Authenticated Users":- StartFactoryTalk Administration Console.Go toRockwell Software > FactoryTalk Administration Console.
- At the prompt to select aFactoryTalk Directory, selectLocalorNetwork.
- If prompted, log on using an administrator user name and password.
- InExplorer, expandSystem > Users and Groups. Right-clickUser Groups, and then chooseNew >.Windows-Linked User Group
- InNew, selectWindows-Linked User GroupAdd.
- InSelect Groups, selectAdvanced.
- In the advancedSelect Groupsdialog box, selectFind Now.
- In the list ofWindowsaccounts, selectAuthenticated Users, and then selectOK.
- InSelect Groups, selectOK.
- InNew Windows-Linked User Group, selectCreate.
When finished, the
FactoryTalk Directory
will recognize all Windows
authenticated user accounts that are part of that Windows
