Networks and Devices are not displayed correctly
Possible problems and solutions:
- Items are missing from theNetworks and Devicestree after importing security settings forRSLogix 5000devices from RSSecurity ServerEdit security settings for the device in theResource Editor. The imported devices do not necessarily appear in theNetworks and Devicestree.
- Refreshing theNetworks and Devicestree does not update the devices that are currently connected to the network,This often means thatRSLinx Classichas not been updated to show the devices. For example, aRSLogix 5000chassis on Ethernet presents only the IP address of the chassis but does not show the devices in the chassis. If this happens inFactoryTalk Administration Console, and refreshing theNetworks and Devicestree does not correct the problem, openRSWhoinRSLinx Classicand then browse the backplane by expanding the + symbol beside the device. When you next refresh theNetworks and Devicestree inFactoryTalk Administration Console, the devices should appear.
- Items are missing from theNetworks and Devicestree after reinstallingRSLinx Classic.WhenRSLinx Classicis reinstalled, all security settings that were previously configured for networks and devices are lost. You must redefine these security settings in theNetworks and Devicestree, or inRSWho.
- TheNetworks and Devicestree displays items that don't existNetwork devices installed byRSLinx Classicare not removed from theNetworks and Devicestree whenRSLinx Classicis uninstalled, even after refreshing theNetworks and Devicestree. Network devices and their security settings are removed whenRSLinx Classicis reinstalled on the computer.
