Networks and Devices are not displayed correctly

Possible problems and solutions:
  • Items are missing from the
    Networks and Devices
tree after importing security settings for
    RSLogix 5000
    devices from RSSecurity Server
Edit security settings for the device in the
    Resource Editor
. The imported devices do not necessarily appear in the
    Networks and Devices
    tree.
  • Refreshing the
    Networks and Devices
tree does not update the devices that are currently connected to the network,
    This often means that
    RSLinx Classic
has not been updated to show the devices. For example, a
    RSLogix 5000
chassis on Ethernet presents only the IP address of the chassis but does not show the devices in the chassis. If this happens in
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    , and refreshing the
    Networks and Devices
tree does not correct the problem, open
    RSWho
    in
    RSLinx Classic
and then browse the backplane by expanding the + symbol beside the device. When you next refresh the
    Networks and Devices
    tree in
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    , the devices should appear.
  • Items are missing from the
    Networks and Devices
    tree after reinstalling
    RSLinx Classic
    .
    When
    RSLinx Classic
is reinstalled, all security settings that were previously configured for networks and devices are lost. You must redefine these security settings in the
    Networks and Devices
    tree, or in
    RSWho
    .
  • The
    Networks and Devices
tree displays items that don't exist
    Network devices installed by
    RSLinx Classic
    are not removed from the
    Networks and Devices
    tree when
    RSLinx Classic
is uninstalled, even after refreshing the
    Networks and Devices
tree. Network devices and their security settings are removed when
    RSLinx Classic
    is reinstalled on the computer.
