I cannot update device shortcuts in FactoryTalk Linx
Possible cause and solution:
- A computer account for the computer hosting theRockwell AutomationDevice Server was not created.Even if the security policyRequire computer accounts for all client machinesis disabled, create computer accounts for any computers hosting servers — for example, Terminal Servers,Rockwell AutomationDevice Servers (FactoryTalk Linx),OPCdata servers, Tag Alarm and Event Servers, or HMI servers. Without the server computer accounts, theFactoryTalkNetwork Directory Server cannot locate these servers on the network and configuration of the servers from client computers on the network is not possible.
- The client computer editing the device shortcut might have disconnected from theFactoryTalkNetwork Directory.Ensure that the client computer and theFactoryTalkNetwork Directory Server computer are connected and can find each other on the network.
- TheFactoryTalkNetwork Directory was recently restored.Check that the computer name of theFactoryTalk Linxis correct, and then restart the computer runningFactoryTalk Linx.
