I cannot log on from PanelView Plus
If you are having trouble logging on from
PanelView Plus
, this might be because:- YourPanelView Plusmight be disconnected from the network, or the domain controller might be down. If you are usingWindows-linked user accounts orWindows-linked group accounts, these accounts are disconnected if the network or domain controller is down. To correct this problem, reconnect thePanelView Plusto the network, or bring the domain controller online, as appropriate.
- FactoryTalk Viewdoes not support theWindowsgroups named Authenticated Users andWindowsAdministrators when running onPanelView Plus.
- WindowsServer 2008 is not supported as the domain controller forPanelView Plus.Windows-linked user account andWindows-linked group accounts cannot log onto the terminal successfully if usingWindowsServer 2008 as the domain controller. To correct this problem, useWindows2000 Server.

does not support the Windows
groups named Authenticated Users and Windows
Administrators on PanelView Plus
By default,
FactoryTalk Services Platform
version 2.10 (CPR 9) or later:- Allows any. The installation process automatically adds the localWindowsAdministrator user account to log on to either directoryWindowsAdministrators group to theFactoryTalkAdministrators group in eachFactoryTalk Directory.
- Allows any authenticated. The installation process automatically adds all members of the localWindowsuser, not just administrative users, to log on to either directoryWindowsAuthenticated Users group to theFactoryTalkLocal Directory andFactoryTalkNetwork Directory. AnyWindowsuser that has successfully logged on toWindowson the local computer is automatically a member of the Authenticated Users group.
- Allows all new user accounts full access permissions. The installation process automatically sets system policies to allow all new user accounts added to either directory full access to that directory by default.
When running on
PanelView Plus
, FactoryTalk View
does not support the Windows
Administrators group or the Windows
Authenticated Users group. This means that you cannot log on to FactoryTalk
from PanelView Plus
unless you explicitly create user accounts and then specify security permissions for PanelView Plus
