I cannot create areas in an application

Possible cause and solution:
  • Attempting to edit a local application.
    If you are editing an application and find that you cannot create areas, check that you are not editing a local application. You cannot create areas in local applications. You can only create areas in network applications.
If you are editing a network application but still cannot create areas, it may be because:
  • Your user account has not been granted the appropriate security permissions. Check with your local
    FactoryTalk
    system administrator.
  • The computer you are using is not connected to the network directory server or is not connected to the network. Check the computer's connections.
  • The network directory server computer is not connected to the network. Check the network directory server connections.
