Import a certificate

When establishing a connection between an OPC UA Server and
FactoryTalk Linx
 OPC UA Connector, the certificates from both sides must be presented and trusted separately.
The user can choose to import an incoming certificate and a custom outgoing certificate manually.
FactoryTalk Linx
 OPC UA Connector version 6.20.00 and earlier creates an outgoing certificate by default.
TIP:
Use
Manage Access
 to limit access to security certificate management operations to administrators or individuals. This function is only available to Administrator.

To import a certificate

  1. In , select
    Certificate Management
    .
  2. On
    Certificate Management
    , select
    Incoming Certificate
     or
    Outgoing Certificate
    , and then select
    Import
    .
  3. In , select a certificate file with one of the following file extensions, and then select
    OK
    .
    • .pem
    • .cer
    • .crt
    • .der
    • .p7b
    • .p7c
    • .p12
    • .pfx
  4. (optional) If an outgoing certificate requires a password to decrypt, enter the correct password to continue.
