Device counters

The following are the device counter's parameters and their meanings. These counters are associated with the service configuration.

Address
Shows the device address, such as IPv4, hostname, or DNS.

AliasName
Shows the device address's alias name. This counter is the user-assigned name for the device that is set in the configuration in FactoryTalk Administration Console.

ConnectionStatus
Shows the connection status. For more information, see Status code.

ConnectionStatusCode
Shows the connection status code.
The code is returned by the Windows ICMP service.

LastPingAttemptTime
Shows the last attempt time to ping the device. For example: 2024-8-8 16:08:48.5293961

Shows the last failure time to ping the device. For example: 2024-8-8 16:08:48.5293961

PingDiagnosticReset
Resets the device counter. Once a client is connected to the FactoryTalk Resource and Status server, you can change the
PingDiagnosticReset
value to 1 to reset these device counters, and then the service will reset the value to 0 automatically:

  • PingQuantityFailures
  • PingQuantitySuccess

Shows the attempts number of pinging devices.
