Add an address block (DeviceNet)
Add an address block to specify the location and size of a memory block within the DeviceNet Scanner's I/O table. You cannot read mapped data from a controller that has not been specified in an address block.
To add an address block to a DeviceNet Scanner's I/O table
- Click theI/O Configurationtab on theDeviceNet Scanner Propertiesdialog box to show theDeviceNet Scannerand theInputandOutputnodes.
- Right-click the input node or output node and then clickAdd Address Blockto display theAddress Block Propertiesdialog box.
- Set theStart Byteto specify the beginning of the memory block in the I/O table. Enter the input address or the output address as shown in theRSNetWorxscanlist fieldsInput AddressorOutput Address.
- Select a value in theLength in Bytesfield to specify the number of bytes of the memory block in the I/O table. The values you enter correspond to the scanlist you generated usingRSNetWorx for DeviceNet.
- ClickOKto accept the values and close the dialog box.
- Right-click anAddress Blockand then clickAdd Deviceto display theDevice Propertiesdialog box.
- Set theStart Byteto specify the starting byte in the I/O table for the device. The Start Byte must be within the parent Address Block.
- Set theLengthfield to specify the length of the address block (the amount of space in the input or output table) in bytes for the device. The Length value must be within the parent Address Block.
- Set theNodefield to specify the node number of the slave device. The address must be unique for each device, although the address number may be used in both the input and output tables. If the device is aPanelView Plusacting as a slave device, enter the node number of thePanelView Plusdevice in this field.
- ClickOKto accept the values and close the dialog box.
