Communication Setup editor, Primary tab (local applications)

How do I access the Communication Setup editor?
From the
Explorer
, under the
FactoryTalk Linx
 data server, double-click
Communication Setup
.
For local applications, the
Communication Setup
 editor consists of a
Primary
 tab,
Device Shortcuts
 area, a
Shortcut Properties
 table, and a
Status Message
 field.
Use the
Primary
 tab to:
  • View the communication configuration on the local computer and the properties associated with this computer's primary
    FactoryTalk Linx
     data server
  • Add or delete shortcuts associated with the communication topology on the Primary tab
  • Configure additional properties for the selected shortcut (such as an offline tag file), or to enable
    FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
     support
    IMPORTANT:
    Modifying this data at run time could cause unexpected results.
