Shelve Alarm dialog box

The shelve duration value is controlled by the maximum shelve time value which is defined by the configuration of the Tag Alarm and Event Server. The default maximum shelve time is 480 minutes.
The following table describes the settings available in the
Shelve Alarm
 dialog box:
Setting
Description
Alarm name
Shows the name of the selected alarm.
If multiple alarms are selected, it is displayed as
Multiple (x alarms selected)
 where
x
 is the total count of selected alarms.
Shelve duration
Specifies the period of time, in minutes, for which the alarm should be shelved. Once the shelve duration expires, the alarm is unshelved. The value must be a whole number.
  • Default: 1
  • Minimum: 1
  • Maximum: 2147483647
Tip
: If the shelve duration is greater than the default maximum shelve time, the default max shelve time is used.
(optional) Comment
Specifies the reason for shelving the alarm.
The default value is empty. The maximum length is 512 characters.
This comment is stored with the alarm and is logged to the UserComment field in the alarm database, which you can view using the Alarm and Event Log Viewer.
