Alarms and events interaction reference
At runtime, the items on the Alarm and Event Status Bar provide a quick and easy way of interacting with alarms and events.
The following table provides a reference of the actions that can be accomplished using the status bar:

Acknowledge the selected alarm | Select the alarm you want to acknowledge, and then click the Acknowledge button. | ![]() |
Acknowledge an alarm and enter a comment | Select the alarm you want to acknowledge, and then click the Acknowledge with Comment button. | ![]() |
Shelve the selected alarm with specific duration | Select the alarm you want to shelve and then click the Shelve selected alarm button. | ![]() |
Silence all alarms | To stop the alarm bell from sounding for all alarms currently in the Alarm and Event Banner, click the Silence All Alarms button. Silencing alarms does not acknowledge them; it merely stops the alarm bell from sounding. If a new alarm occurs, the alarm bell sounds again. | ![]() |
Disable or enable the alarm bell | To stop the alarm bell from sounding, even if new alarms occur, click the Audible Sound Disabled button. To configure the alarm bell to sound when there are any alarms that have not been silenced, or if new alarms occur, click the Audible Sound Enabled button. | ![]() ![]() |
Run the command associated with the selected alarm | To run the command that was configured at design time to be associated with the alarm, click the Run Alarm Command button. | ![]() |
Refresh the alarm list | To refresh the event queue and update the Alarm and Event Banner alarm list, click the Refresh button. | ![]() |
