About alarm faults
The Alarm and Event Summary and Alarm and Event Banner indicate the number of faulted alarm conditions for the alarms that meet the event subscription criteria in the status bar. When an alarm fault occurs:
- The alarm fault count is incremented by the number of faulted alarm conditions.
- If a faulted alarm condition appears in the alarm list, it is removed.
- The faulted alarm conditions are added to the alarm fault list which is displayed in the Alarm Faults dialog box.
At runtime, operators can view the list of faulted alarms in the Alarm Faults dialog box which displays the following columns:
- Event Time: the time the alarm condition faulted.
- Event Source (Condition): the name of the faulted alarm followed by the alarm Condition name in parenthesis.
- Message: a message describing the alarm fault.
