Create a subscription (Banner)
Create a new event subscription to specify the subscription settings. The newly created subscription removes the default subscription, which includes all areas, priorities, and event sources.
Multiple subscriptions are combined together. The subscription criteria are combined using the logical AND operator. For example, checking only the
Priority: Urgent
, entering an area of Packaging Line
, and then entering an event source of [BoxStuffer]*
subscribes to Urgent alarms from the packaging line whose names begin with [BoxStuffer].To create a new subscription
- Open FactoryTalk View Studio.
- Open the display that includes the Alarm and Event Banner object.
- Right-click the Alarm and Event Banner object, and then clickProperties.
- Click theEvent Subscriptionstab.
- Under theEvent subscriptionslist, clickAdd.
- Type a unique name for the new subscription.
- Configure the subscription based onScopes.
- Under theScopeslist, leave the default scope or clickBrowse.
- In theSelect Scopebrowser, specify the scope for the events to subscribe to.
- ClickOK.
TIP:The default scope is(Any Scope), which is equivalent to selecting the top node in theSelect Scopebrowser. - Configure the subscription based onEvent sources.
- Under theEvent sourceslist, leave the default event source or clickBrowse.
- In theAlarm Source Browser, select the area that contains the alarms you want to monitor in the list on the left.
- Double-click the alarms in the list on the right to add them to theSelected alarm sourceslist.
- ClickOK.
- Under theEvent sourceslist, clickAddand then type the area name.TIP:If you subscribe to specific alarms and you configured theScopeslist, verify that theScopeslist includes the areas that contains those alarms.
- PressEnter. You cannot subscribe to the same alarm more than once.TIP:To change the name of an alarm, click the alarm name, clickEdit, type a new alarm name, and then pressEnter.To remove an alarm, click the alarm name, and then clickRemove.
- ClickOK.
