FactoryTalk Web Token Authorization settings

How do I open FactoryTalk Web Token Authorization?
  1. Log on to the
    FactoryTalk
    Network Directory or
    FactoryTalk
    Local Directory.
  2. In
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    Explorer, expand
    System > Policies > System Policies
    .
  3. Right-click
    Web Token Authorization
    , and then select
    Properties
    .
The following table shows the FactoryTalk Web Token Authorization settings.
Setting
Description
Client ID
Shows the unique client identifier issued for the client. The third-party product uses the client ID and client secret pairs to get the web token to access the FactoryTalk-enabled products. The client ID cannot not be modified.
Client Secret
Shows the client secret issued for the client. The third-party product uses the client ID and client secret pairs to get the web token to access the FactoryTalk-enabled products. The client secret is hidden by default. The client secret cannot not be modified.
Generate
Creates the client ID and client secret pair.
Description
Allows the user to describe the client ID and client secret pair.
Add
Adds client ID and client secret to the list.
Edit
Allows the user to edit the description of a client ID and client secret pair.
Stop Edit
Cancels the editing. It is only available when you are in the edit mode, but no changes happened.
Update
Saves the description changes. It is only available when you are in the edit mode and changes happened.
Remove
Deletes the client ID and client secret you selected from the list.
Disable
Disables the client ID and client secret you selected.
Enable
Enables the client ID and client secret you selected.
Status
Shows the status of the client ID and client secret you selected.
  • Unissued
    The client ID and client secret are created but not used by the third-party product to get the security web token.
  • Issued
    The client ID and client secret are used by the third-party product, and the security web token has been issued.
  • Disabled
    The client ID and client secret are disabled, the third-party product cannot use the client ID and client secret to get the security web token, and the previously issued token will be invalidated in 60 minutes. The third-party product must use the client ID and client secret to request a new security web token again once they are re-enabled.
  • Enabled
    The client ID and client secret are enabled, and the third-party product can use the client ID and client secret to request a security web token.
