New User Group

How do I open New User Group?
  1. In
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    Explorer
    , expand the
    FactoryTalk
    network or local
    directory tree. Expand the
    System
    folder until the
    User Groups
    folder is visible.
  2. Right-click the
    User Groups
    folder, point to
    New
    , and click
    User Group
    .
Create a new user group to simultaneously administer security permissions for a number of users, or user groups. Change a user's group memberships to quickly change the user's accessible resources. This allows secure access to the
FactoryTalk
system independently of the user's access levels in
Windows
.
TIP:
To create a group account that is linked to a user group account in
Windows
, add a Windows-linked user group. The group account's information in
FactoryTalk
cannot change because this information is inherited from
Windows
.
Use these settings in
New User Group
to add a FactoryTalk user group account to the
FactoryTalk Directory
.
