How do I open General
FactoryTalk Linx
 Server Properties?
  1. In
    Explorer
    , expand applications or areas until the
    FactoryTalk Linx
     server is visible.
  2. Right-click the
    FactoryTalk Linx
     server, then select
    Properties
    .
Use
FactoryTalk Linx
 Server General Properties
 to configure the name, description, and location of a
FactoryTalk Linx
 server.
Setting
Description
Name
Shows the
FactoryTalk Linx
 server name. This name cannot be changed after the server is created and cannot include dashes or hyphens (–).
Description
Enter a description for the
FactoryTalk Linx
 server. For example, use this box to describe a component's location, to identify a contact person or number in the event of failure, or to keep track of changes or version information.
Computer hosting the
FactoryTalk Linx
 server
For local applications, displays the name
localhost
 as the computer hosting the
FactoryTalk Linx
 server. This indicates that the
FactoryTalk Linx
 server will execute on the local computer. When configuring a local application, this property cannot be changed.
For network applications, displays the computer name of the local computer. If the
FactoryTalk Linx
 server is not being hosted on the local computer, enter a different computer name, or select
Browse
 to specify another computer.
