Explorer window

Shows the contents of the
FactoryTalk
 Network Directory or
FactoryTalk
 Local Directory in a tree view. To display the
Explorer
 in
FactoryTalk Administration Console
 or
FactoryTalk View Studio
, select
View > Explorer Window
.
To work with the options available for any item in the
Explorer
, expand the tree and right-click the item to open a context menu.
  • System folder
     — all of the items in the System folder apply to every application contained in the
    FactoryTalk Directory
  • Networks & Devices
     — displays the control hardware available to the local computer through
    RSLinx® Classic
  • Application tab
     — available only if
    FactoryTalk® Linx
     is installed.
  • Communications tab
     — available only if
    FactoryTalk Linx
     is installed. Displays the control hardware available to the local computer through
    FactoryTalk Linx
    .
