Counter0x - Input view

Use the
Input
view to configure the inputs for the high-speed counter device at the individual counter level.
Input parameters vary depending on the operating mode. The operating modes are:
Count/External Direction mode
The B input controls the direction of the counter. If the B input is low (0), the counter increments on the rising edges of input A. If the input B is high (1), the counter decrements on the rising edges of input A.
Count/Internal Direction mode
The status of InvertDirectionInput, as controlled by the user program, determines the direction of the counter. The counter increments on the rising edge of the device’s A input when InvertDirectionInput is reset to 0. The counter decrements on the rising edge of the A input when InvertDirectionInput is set to 1.
Up and Down Pulses mode
The counter channel increments on the rising edge of pulses that are applied to input A and decrements on the rising edge of pulses that are applied to input B.
X1 Quadrature Encoder mode
A quadrature encoder is attached to inputs A and B, the phase relation of inputs A and B determine the count direction. If input A leads input B, the counter increments. If input B leads input A, the counter decrements.
X2 Quadrature Encoder mode
Operates much like X1 Quadrature Encoder mode except that the resolution is doubled.
X4 Quadrature Encoder mode
Operates much like X1 Quadrature Encoder mode except that the resolution is quadrupled.
