NFC

Configure the Near Field Communication (NFC) permissions for data exchange with supported devices added to the security policy model.
TIP: You cannot configure NFC for devices in the Onboarding Area. For more information, see Onboarding.

Configuration

FactoryTalk Policy Manager
 administrators can configure NFC settings for compatible CIP Secure devices. See Configure NFC

Statuses

NFC statuses include:
  • Disabled
    .
    Do not allow devices that are not in the security policy model to read from or write to the device through NFC.
  • Read-only
    .
    Allow devices that are not in the security policy model to read from the device through NFC.
  • Read and write
    .
    Allow devices that are not in the security policy model to read from or write to the device through NFC.
IMPORTANT: Devices newly added to the policy model always have NFC disabled.
