FactoryTalk Remote Access

FactoryTalk Design Studio
integrates with
FactoryTalk Remote Access
to connect from the cloud to controllers.
FactoryTalk Remote Access
enables remote access and remote assistance to industrial equipment associated with Ethernet connections through the
Stratix®
4300 Remote Access
Router, the
FactoryTalk Remote Access
Runtime, or through industrial PCs and other products, such as
FactoryTalk Optix
panels with the
FactoryTalk Remote Access
Runtime license included.
FactoryTalk Design Studio
accesses
FactoryTalk Remote Access
endpoints with a custom
FTDS
user, which is automatically created as part of the
FactoryTalk Remote Access
configuration. In this way,
FactoryTalk Design Studio
endpoint access can be managed separately from other applications, enabling secure communications for all managed systems.
For more information on the network architecture and security design of
FactoryTalk Remote Access
and how it communicates using endpoints, see System Architecture in the
FactoryTalk Remote Access
Online Help.
See Enable FactoryTalk Remote Access for FactoryTalk Design Studio for the process of enabling the
FTDS
user in
FactoryTalk Remote Access
.
See Connect FactoryTalk Design Studio to FactoryTalk Remote Access to set the path from
FactoryTalk Design Studio
through
FactoryTalk Remote Access
to your on-premises controllers.
