Set project directories

Set directories for the following: Event Journal, Duplicate Journal, Error Logging, Instructions (if you are using
FactoryTalk®
e
Procedure®
), and Equipment Database.
IMPORTANT:
The
Event Journal
 path must be defined or the
FactoryTalk Batch
 Server will not start. The recommended
Event Journal
 path is a subdirectory in the
FTBATCH_PROJECTS
 share. In addition, if the
Event Journal
 or
Duplicate Journal
 path is invalid, the server will not start. If an invalid path is used, an error message indicating the invalid path is written to the
batchsvr.log
 file.
To set project directories
  1. Open
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
     and sign in to the
    FactoryTalk
     Network Directory.
  2. In
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    Explorer
    , do one of the following:
    • For a new
      FactoryTalk Batch
       Server, right-click the application or the area name and select
      Add New Server
      FactoryTalk Batch Server
      .
    • For an existing
      FactoryTalk Batch
       Server, expand the application or the area name, right-click the server, and select
      Properties
      .
  3. In the
    FactoryTalk Batch Services Properties
     dialog, select the
    Project Settings
     tab.
  4. In the
    Server
     box, select a server.
  5. In the
    Server directories
     area, for the
    Project path strategy
    :
    • Select
      Default paths
       to automatically populate project directories with paths from the
      Project path root
       directory.
    • Select
      Custom paths
       to browse to or enter paths for the project directories.
  6. Perform one of the following:
    • To save all changes, select
      Apply
      .
    • To save all changes and close the
      FactoryTalk Batch Services Properties
       dialog, select
      OK
      .
