Deploy to a physical controller or an on-premises emulated controller

  1. Set the physical controller's key switch or toggle switch to REM (Remote). If the mode switch on the physical controller is set to RUN, you cannot deploy a project to it from
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
    .
  2. On the top toolbar, select Deploy icon to open
    Deploy center
    .
    TIP: You can also select
    Deploy center
     at the bottom of the
    Devices
     explorer.
  3. On
    Deploy center
    , set the device path for each controller.
    TIP: You can type a path or select the path through the driver in the
    FactoryTalk Linx
     browser component. To open the
    FactoryTalk Linx
     browser, in the
    Path
     column, select Hamburger icon, and then select
    Set controller path
    . To add a VPN driver, see Add a VPN driver.
  4. Select the checkboxes for the controllers to which you want to deploy the project.
    TIP: Before deploying to a 5069
    CompactLogix
     controller, verify that the
    EtherNet/IP™
     port configuration in the project matches the target device.
  5. Select
    Deploy
    .
  6. In
    Deployment warning
    , select
    Continue
    .
    A progress bar indicates the status of the current build and deployment for the controller.
  7. In
    Choose a controller to go online with after deployment ends
    , select a controller, and then select
    OK
    .
    TIP: You can be online with only one controller at a time. If you are currently online with a controller and choose to go online with a different controller, you automatically go offline with the current controller, and all monitoring tabs are closed.
