Configure the sample FactoryTalk Batch Server
To set up the sample demonstrations, configure the
FactoryTalk® Batch
Server
to use the SampleDemo1
application in the FactoryTalk
Network Directory. Use the FactoryTalk Administration Console
to configure the FactoryTalk Batch
Server.

Server:- OpenFactoryTalk Administration Consoleand sign in to theFactoryTalkNetwork Directory.
- InFactoryTalk Administration ConsoleExplorer, expand theSampleDemo1application. Right-clickSampleDemo1_Serverand selectProperties.
- In theFactoryTalk Batch Services Propertiesdialog, select theGeneraltab.
- In theComputer hosting the primary FactoryTalk Batch Serverbox, enter or browse to the host computer where the primaryFactoryTalk BatchServer resides.
- SelectApplyto save the data in theGeneraltab.
- IfFactoryTalkis part of your system, do these extra steps:eProcedure
- SelectEnable FactoryTalk eProcedure.
- SelectApplyto save the data in theGeneraltab.
- Select theProject Settingstab.
- In theServerbox, select a server.
- In theServer directoriesarea, for theProject path strategy, selectCustom paths.
- Select theArea Modelbrowse button. TheBrowse for Area Modeldialog opens.
- Open theC:\Users\Public\Documents\Rockwell Automation\Batch\SampleDemo1\Recipesfolder, select theice_cream1ep.cfgfile, and then selectOpen.
- SelectApplyto save the data in theProject Settingstab.
TIP: In order for theServer to start, you must define theeProcedureInstructionspath and have an instruction file for each instruction-based phase in the area model. TheSampleDemo1application automatically populates this path. (See the for instructions on defining instruction-based phases.) - SelectOKto save the data in each tab of theFactoryTalk Batch Services Propertiesdialog and close the dialog.
- Select to exit theFactoryTalk Administration Console.TIP: These steps set up theFactoryTalk BatchServer to run the tutorial steps in this manual. There are many other settings to consider when setting up theFactoryTalk Batchsystem.
