Cross Invocation descriptors and defaults
Cross Invocation is the means by which
FactoryTalk®
Batch View™
HMI Controls passes data to, and activates, an automation
server such as an HMI or Visual Basic program. The data is specific to an equipment resource
type within an area model.Each time a selection changes in
FactoryTalk Batch View
and HMI Controls, the system retrieves the Cross Invocation strings associated with the
equipment resource from the FactoryTalk Batch
Server
and evaluates them.You can define up to five Cross Invocation strings per resource type.
Define Cross Invocation strings
- OpenFactoryTalk Administration Consoleand sign into theFactoryTalkNetwork Directory.
- InFactoryTalk Administration ConsoleExplorer, do one of the following:
- For a newFactoryTalk BatchServer, right-click the application or the area name and select .
- For an existingFactoryTalk BatchServer, expand the application or the area name, right-click the server, and selectProperties.
- In theFactoryTalk Batch Services Propertiesdialog, select theDescriptors and Defaultstab.
- In theCross Invocation descriptors and defaultsarea,Resource typesdropdown list, select the appropriate type (Phase,Process Cell,Resource, orUnit).
- In theDescriptorsarea, enter up to five string labels for the selectedResource type.
- In theDefault valuesarea, enter the default string value associated with each definedDescriptor.
- SelectApplyto save the data in theDescriptors and Defaultstab.
