USERS AND GROUPS
Authentication modes determine the user types that can log in to the application:
User authentication mode | Description | User name conventions |
---|---|---|
Model only | Allows only the users created in FactoryTalk Optix Studio to log in (default). | Unique user name |
Local only | Allows only local Windows users to log in. |

Active Directory | Allows only Active Directory users to log in. |
|
Domain Only | Allows only Active Directory users and local Windows users to log in. |
|
Any | Allows users of any type to log in. | Adhering to the user name conventions of Model only, Local only, Active Directory, and Domain Only modes. |
COMMUNICATION DRIVERS
TIP:
This Communication driver supports importing tags in the online mode. The online mode does not require manually exporting tags from the controller to a file.
These modules cannot be used with the
RA EtherNet/IP Driver

- Read from the source node to the parent and write from the parent to the source node.Default for dynamic links created inFactoryTalk Optix StudioUI.
The direction of the dynamic link:
Read from source node to the parent.
Write from the parent to the source node.
Read from the source node to the parent and write from the parent to the source node.
PRESENTATION ENGINES
Property | Description |

Dynamic variables polling time | Time interval for the periodic reading of the dynamic link source field variables. |
Text render type | Either Auto or Native |
Login window | Type of login Window object that is prompted at the start of the session when you are not logged in. |
Start window | Type of start Window object to create at the start of the session. |
Starting user | The starting user with which to authenticate the session. |
Style sheet | Set of styles of graphical objects, either globally or for specific object classes. |
Session | An available session. |
Enable virtual keyboard | Enable/disable the virtual keyboard. |
