Course Purpose

This course provides you with an overview of the various FactoryTalk® Historian tools for collecting data. Throughout the course, you will learn how to configure a FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition system, modify FactoryTalk Historian tags, how to apply exception and compression to filter data to be archived. Also, you will be given an opportunity to compare the use of Polled versus Advised data collection modes. Data buffering, layers/methods of redundancy, archive management and backup and visualization of the Asset Framework Data within Pi Vision will also be covered.

Your instructor will demonstrate how to perform all the tasks covered in this course. You will then be given an opportunity to practice these tasks using a procedure guide and Virtual Machine images designed to simulate a real production facility.
