Who We Are

Our people are the foundation of all we do, and creating an environment where all employees can and want to do their best work is fundamental to our success. We continue to have increased gains in representation of our global gender and U.S. race and ethnicity employee demographics.

Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team serves our 23,500 employees globally. The team is led by our Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion officer, who reports to Rockwell Automation’s Chief People and Legal officer.

Inclusive Culture

We are creating an inclusive culture by raising awareness of the impact and value of differences and group dynamics in all of our interactions; understanding and removing barriers that may exist in our process, procedures and everyday interactions; and, creating differentiation by building and strengthening partnerships with the channel, ​customers, employees, communities and other stakeholders by sharing our culture of inclusion practices.​

Mentorship is often department-based or informally led, and resources, including our mentor guidebook, are available for all Rockwell employees. Additionally, Rockwell offers several benefits to support workforce diversity, including flexible work hours, expanded parental leave, and volunteering support.

Awareness & Learning

One of our key differentiators is our culture, which encourages courageous conversations on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The goal is to create stronger workplace partnerships by building understanding of issues that can get in the way of an inclusive work environment.

Additionally, we focus on increasing awareness of the impact and value of differences and group dynamics and impact of privilege. Our inclusion learning offerings include a variety of activities: experiential learning labs and summits, global unconscious bias training, inclusion-related workshops, and leadership training.

Inclusive Terminology Initiative

We condemn discrimination of any kind and embed our Culture of Inclusion work into everything we do. As an inclusive company, we do not tolerate language that is biased, offends, or implies violence.

In the summer of 2020, we launched an Inclusive Terminology Initiative, with the goal of providing unified guidance for identifying, replacing, and avoiding offensive and racially biased language in our products and content. We’re actively working with our partners to ensure that the replacement terms selected are understood and adopted by our employees, customers and others in the industry going forward.

Employee Resource Groups

Our 14 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) provide a global network of multicultural, multi-generational employees who are committed to support the company’s values and business goals along with the needs of its membership. Our groups have 61 chapters in more than 20 countries and engage more than 6,000 Rockwell employees. ERGs also supplement mentoring efforts for their members, specifically within the Black and Latinx communities. Rockwell Automation provides financial support to ERG’s to fulfill their respective missions while empowering employees to build relationships, grow personally and professionally while contributing to the success of our company.

Inclusion Change Teams

Our global business Inclusion Change Teams, which are sponsored and supported by executives, were chartered to address barriers to inclusion in the workplace. They partner closely with our Culture of Inclusion Center of Expertise to drive awareness and implement programs locally, ensuring our inclusion and diversity work continues to be embedded throughout the organization.

Sustainable Culture Change

Change must start at the top, where leaders commit to measurable results and hold their teams accountable. In 2017, following our Catalyst Award recognition, Blake Moret, Chairman and CEO, signed two pledges to demonstrate our commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Through these programs, our leaders cultivate a workplace where diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences are welcomed, respected and valued.
