Automation Fair Event Returns to Philadelphia

Automation Fair Event Returns to Philadelphia

The 2018 event boasts the latest information in control, power and IT/OT technologies and trends for industrial automation that are driving innovation.

By Amanda Joshi, Managing Editor

In 2012, automation industry professionals from around the world gathered in Philadelphia for the industry’s premier event showcasing the latest trends, sharing current best practices and offering hands-on educational opportunities. Hosted by Rockwell Automation, Philadelphia will once again be the gathering place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, November 14-15 for the 2018 Automation Fair® event.

November 14-15 • Pennsylvania Convention Center • Philadelphia 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15 Register FREE at www.automationfair.com or contact your local Rockwell Automation representative.

When the Automation Fair event was last held in Philadelphia, smart manufacturing was still in its infancy. Now, big data and The Connected Enterprise have taken a strong hold as more manufacturers see the benefits such technology offers: faster time to market, asset optimization, lower total cost of ownership and mitigating risk. In addition, visitors will see the latest control system network infrastructure based on standard, unmodified EtherNet/IP™, safety, power and information technologies that support The Connected Enterprise.

In more than 90 sessions, including forums, technical sessions and hands-on labs --- all offered for free — Rockwell Automation specialists, partners, customers and other industry professionals will share what they’ve learned industrial solutions that provide working data capital for better collaboration and more profitable decisions across enterprises and supply chains.

In addition to the free educational opportunities, check out the latest automation technology at the event’s exposition from Rockwell Automation and more than 100 of its partners. Learn how Rockwell Automation and member companies in its PartnerNetwork™ program are integrating technologies, including the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and industrial mobility, with automation control, power and information software and solutions.

PSUG will be held November 12–13, 2018 at the Philadelphia Convention Center prior to the Automation Fair event.

Process Solutions User Group (PSUG) Event

Just prior to the Automation Fair® event, on Nov. 12-13, more than 800 professionals from diverse process industries worldwide will convene at the popular Process Solutions User Group (PSUG).

Also held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, PSUG offers process users opportunities to learn about new technologies, process solutions and best practices. Process control engineers, plant managers, operators, manufacturing IT professionals, integrators and EPC consultants all participate in the interactive atmosphere.

PSUG is a great place to learn from people who are improving their processes and creating new revenue streams. This year’s event offers ten hands-on labs, 30 technical sessions, and more than 25 customer application sessions showcasing real results using the process solutions available from Rockwell Automation.

The participation fee for the two-day event is US$499 through September 30, 2018 and US$649 after September 30 per person. It covers event sessions, meals, refreshments and the Monday night hospitality event at the Reading Terminal Market. Learn more.

The Future of Engineering

At the Engineering Our Future™ booth (booth #1757), engage with students who will demonstrate their problem-solving skills while having fun with robots. FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a unique varsity sport of the mind that’s designed to help inspire young people to follow a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) path and become the innovators of the future.

FIRST offers a progression of programs from FIRST LEGO® League (FLL) and Junior FLL, to the high school FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). Learn more about Rockwell Automation and its strategic relationship with FIRST at http://bit.ly/2mEXqRS.

Digital User Experience Team

Returning for this year’s event, the Rockwell Automation Digital User Experience Team will be gathering your feedback on the desktop, web, and mobile tools you use to do your job.

Customers who use Rockwell Automation product selection, configuration and quoting tools — such as Integrated Architecture® Builder (IAB), ProposalWorks™, and Product Compatibility and Download Center (PCDC) — are invited to participate in user research activities in the same booth where they learn about these tools.

Take this opportunity to have a stronger voice in shaping the future of the Rockwell Automation tools that you need to do your job. Collaborate with the Rockwell Automation Digital User Experience Team in the Selection & Design Tools/MyRockwellAutomation, booth #1609.
