Overview

This course (SAF-LOG104-EL) provides you with the ability to create a Studio 5000 Logix Designer® project for a GuardLogix® system and troubleshoot a previously operational GuardLogix system. After completing this course, you will be able to perform the following tasks:

• Configure GuardLogix controller properties and safety options

• Configure Guard I/O safety modules

• Program safety instructions

• Produce and consume GuardLogix safety data over an EtherNet/IP network

• Troubleshoot GuardLogix controller problems

• Troubleshoot and replace Guard I/O safety modules:

• Adding and configuring CompactBlock™ Guard I/O™ and POINT Guard I/O™ safety modules

• Generating Safety Signatures and locking/unlocking a GuardLogix controller

• Programming safety instructions

• Troubleshooting controller and safety module issues

Prerequisites

To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required:

  • Studio 5000 Logix Designer Level 3: Project Development course (CCP143 or CCP143-EL)

OR

  • Accelerated Logix 5000 Programmer Certificate Course  Level 1 course (CCP250)
