Overview

This course introduces hydraulic principles and their application in fluid power systems. This course explores the major components common to most fluid power systems as well as fluid power system motors and the types of fluids and additives used in hydraulic systems.  The course will also cover the operation of hydraulic systems in various industrial applications, such as the hydraulic system of the stacker reclaimer, the hydraulic system of the rotary car dumper, and the hydraulic system associated with a bowl mill.
