Shelve an alarm condition

Shelving an alarm condition prevents the notification of new state changes to the condition. Shelve an alarm condition from the Alarm Manager table. Shelving an alarm condition shelves only that condition. The alarm condition remains shelved until the shelve duration from the controller expires automatically or when unshelving the alarm condition manually.
To shelve an alarm condition
  1. Open the
    Alarm Manager
    screen.
  2. Select the alarm. Using an external keyboard, press
    Tab
    to highlight the alarm list. Press the
    Up Arrow
    and
    Down Arrow
    to select the alarm in the list.
  3. At the bottom of the Alarm Manager table, select
    Details
    ViewRTAlarmSumDetailsbuttonV5. The
    Details
    pane appears at the bottom of the Alarm Manager table, or replaces the alarm table on medium HMI devices. Details appear for the last selected alarm.
  4. To the left of the
    Details
    pane, select the condition to shelve. For example, select HIHI.
  5. Above the condition list on the left side of the
    Details
    pane, select
    Shelve
    ViewRTAlarmSumShelveButtonV5 to shelve the selected alarm condition.

    Tips:
    • The state of the condition is indicated in the
      Inhibit State
      row of the
      Details
      pane. A
      Shelved
      icon appears in the
      Inhibit State
      column for the alarm in the Alarm Manager table.
    • Using an external keyboard, tab to highlight a button on an alarm table and press
      Enter
      .
    • The HMI designer may use
      Logix Designer
      to change the Shelve Duration and Max Shelve Duration. If the HMI designer does not change the Shelve Duration and Max Shelve Duration values using
      Logix Designer
      , the updated values do not propagate to the Alarm Summary and Alarm Manager clients. The table uses the previous Shelve Duration and Max Shelve Duration values when shelving alarms.
