Disable an alarm

Disable an alarm to not evaluate the alarm condition. This turns off the alarm. Disabling an unacknowledged alarm does not acknowledge the alarm. Disabling individual alarm conditions in the
Details
pane of an alarm table is not supported. The
Alarm Manager
shows disabled alarms. The
Alarm Summary
shows disabled alarms that are unacknowledged.
To disable an alarm
  1. Open the
    Alarm Summary
     screen or the
    Alarm Manager
     screen.
  2. On the alarm table, select the alarm to disable:
    • Individual alarm.
       Tap to select the alarm. Using an external keyboard,
      Tab
      to highlight the alarm list. Select the
      Up Arrow
      and
      Down Arrow
       to select alarms in the list.
    • Page of alarms.
      To select all alarms visible on the current page of alarms, select

    • All alarms.
       To select all alarms, including those not visible on the current page of alarms, select
      Select All

    At the bottom of the alarm table, select
    Disable
     viewrtalarmsumdisablebutton. The
    Disable
    icon appears in the
    Inhibit State
    column for the alarm.

    Tips:
    • Using an external keyboard, tab to highlight a button on an alarm table and press
      Enter
      .
    • To prevent alarm notifications while continuing to log state changes, the HMI Designer may configure an alarm suppress in the
      Logix Designer
       project in the controller.
