Acknowledge alarms in an Alarm Summary
Acknowledge an alarm to indicate that you are aware of the alarm. Acknowledging an alarm changes the state of the alarm from unacknowledged to acknowledged. The number of unacknowledged alarms appears in the
in the
System Banner
at the top of the screen. Alarms with a Bad Quality inhibit state such as those with an invalid severity, are not included in the number of unacknowledged alarms. The Alarm Status Indicator

appears red and flashes when there are active alarms that are unacknowledged. The button remains red as long as there are active acknowledged or unacknowledged alarms. When you acknowledge an alarm, the
Alarm State
icon in the alarm table changes to represent the state of the acknowledged alarm: - In Alarm, Acknowledged
- In Alarm, Acknowledged, and Urgent
Active acknowledged alarms are listed on the
Alarm Summary
screen. Alarms with an inhibit state of disabled, suppressed, or shelved and unacknowledged are listed in the Alarm Summary table until they are acknowledged. Acknowledging a normal alarm removes it from the Alarm Summary table because the alarm is no longer interesting. Normal, Acknowledged alarms appear on the Alarm Manager
screen, but no icon appears for Normal, Acknowledged alarms in the Alarm Manager table.To acknowledge alarms in an Alarm Summary
- Open theAlarm Summaryscreen.
- Select the alarms:
- Individual alarm.Tap to select the alarm. Using an external keyboard,Tabto highlight the alarm list. Select theUp ArrowandDown Arrowto select alarms in the list.
- Page of alarms.To select all alarms visible on the current page of alarms, selectSelect Page
- All alarms.To select all alarms, including those not visible on the current page of alarms, selectSelect All
- At the bottom of the Alarm Summary table, selectAcknowledge
. The selected alarms are acknowledged.
Alarm Status Indicatorreturns to its default state when all alarms, including the unacknowledged alarms, are normal.
- Correct the event that is causing the alarm error. For example, for an analog alarm, the HI level may become active if the water level in a tank rises beyond a specified value. To correct the issue, reduce the water level to below the high threshold. The alarm returns to its normal state.TIP:Using an external keyboard, tab to highlight a button on an alarm table and pressEnter.
