Configure Ethernet ports

Configure the link speed and duplex mode for the available Ethernet links of an HMI device:
To configure Ethernet ports
  1. On the HMI device or in the
    System Banner
    , select
    Navigation
    Icon: NavigationMenuButton and then select
    Settings
    . .
  2. Select
    Network
    . The
    Network
    popup opens.
  3. Select the
    Configure Ethernet Port
    tab Icon: ViewRTEnetPortConfig.
  4. To to switch on/off LLDP Protocol support for 5510 HMI device, select
    LLDP Protocol
    .
    TIP:
    PanelView
    5310 HMI devices do not support LLDP Protocol.
  5. To use two ports in the Ethernet configuration, select
    Enable Ethernet Link 1
    and
    Enable Ethernet Link 2
    .
    TIP:
    Two Ethernet ports are available on the
    PanelView
    5510 HMI devices only.
    PanelView
    5310 HMI devices only interact with
    Ethernet Link 1
    , and do not support DLR topology.
  6. Specify the network connection speed and how a port sends and receives data:
    • Automatically.
      To automatically sense the link option and speed based on the network connection, select
      Auto negotiate
      .
    • Manually.
      To set the desired network connection speed for the ports, under the Ethernet link for one or both ports, select a
      Link speed
      option and a
      Link duplex
      option.
  7. Select
    Close
    Close button in Designer.
    TIP:
    Tips:
    • 10 Mbps
      sets the network speed to
      10 megabits per second.
    • 100 Mbps
      sets the network speed to 100 megabits per second.
    • Half.
      Sends data or receives data, but not at the same time.
    • Full.
      Sends and receives data at the same time.
