Add a graphic element to the System Banner

By default, the
System Banner
 appears at the top of each screen and shortcut in a project. Customize the
System Banner
 by adding or deleting graphic elements.
To add a graphic element to the System Banner
  1. In the
    Project Explorer
    , expand the
    Predefined Screens
     folder.
  2. Double-click the
    Banner
     to open the
    System Banner
    .
  3. From the
    Toolbox
    , drag the desired graphic element to the
    System Banner
    .
    • If any portion of the graphic element is placed off the edge of the banner rectangle on the
      Banner
      tab, that portion of the graphic element appears clipped in the
      System Banner
       on the HMI device.
    • Placing a graphic element on top of the banner rectangle on an open screen rather than on the
      Banner
      tab makes any portion of the graphic element that is on top of the rectangle on the screen not visible on the HMI device.
    • Graphic elements with valid tag values placed off the banner rectangle do not appear on the
      System Banner
       on the HMI device. Graphic elements with invalid tag values are outlined in red. If a graphic element in error is placed near an edge or off the
      System Banner
      , an arrow with an
      Error
      icon Icon: Runtime Error icon off the edge of the screen_v5 points in the direction of the graphic element. Tap the arrow to open the
      Error list
      for the graphic element.

      Tips:
      • Using the
        Graphic Explorer
        , view and change graphic elements that are on the
        System Banner
        .
      • Do not place a graphic element on top of the
        System Banner
         at the top of an open screen. Place the graphic element on the banner rectangle on the open
        Banner
        tab. Any portion of a graphic element placed on top of the
        System Banner
         on the
        Screen
        tab rather than on the
        Banner
        tab is not visible on the HMI device.
      • After adding a graphic element to the
        System Banner
        , configure the element like any other graphic element, such as change properties and add animations and events.
      • Adjust the height of the
        System Banner
         to accommodate additional graphic elements. However, increasing the height of the banner decreases the amount of available screen space. Consider the size of the screen on the HMI device when adding graphic elements to the
        System Banner
        .
