What is the Guest user?

The Guest user is logged on automatically upon starting up the system and logging off. Anyone who is not logged on or has no assigned security role has Guest user access to the HMI screens. Guest users can access only the screens that have the same level of security that is given to the Guest user account. By default, the role of the Guest user is
Administrator
so the Guest user can view all screens.
The Guest user account saves time because it does not require users to log on to see HMI screens with a specific level of security. For example, to not require a user to log on before navigating screens with an
Operator
level of security, assign the Guest user the
Operator
security role.
To make the system more secure, assign the
None
security role to the Guest user. Users who are not logged on can then only view the
Home
screen regardless of the security assigned to any HMI screen.
To ensure that only Administrator users can change the settings on the HMI device to, for example, reboot the HMI device, assign any role but
Administrator
to the Guest user. For example, assign the
None
role.
