Configure Auto-Logoff

Secure an application on the HMI device by logging off users automatically after a certain period of inactivity on the HMI device. Manually logging off is still supported when Auto-Logoff is enabled. When the auto-logoff occurs, the Guest user role is active. Configure Auto-Logoff through either the security policies for the application or by using AutoLogoff system tags.
To configure Auto-Logoff
  1. Select
    Tools > Security Administration
    .
  2. Select the
    Policies
    tab.
  3. Under
    Auto-Logoff Policies
    , select
Log off the user after a period of inactivity
    .
  4. In the
    minutes
box, type the number of minutes up to 1440. Select the arrows to increase or decrease the number of minutes of inactivity before auto-logoff occurs.
  5. Select
    OK
to save changes and close the
    Security Administration
    dialog box, or select
    Apply
to save changes and keep the
    Security Administration
    dialog box open.
    TIP:
    Tips:
    • Playing videos and accessing IP cameras through the web browser does not prevent the auto-logoff.
    • To configure Auto-Logoff through tag binding, bind to the AutoLogoffEnable and AutoLogoffDelay system tags on the local HMI device.
    • The AutoLogoffRemainingTime system tag displays the time remaining, in seconds, before auto-logoff occurs.
