Caching user credentials when using network-based security
Caching of credentials occurs when the user was successfully logged on to a terminal via Active Directory service but the terminal lost the connection to service or service became unavailable.
The cached credentials enable the user to logon with the domain logon and credentials used when the connection between the terminal and Active Directory worked. The cached credentials work for 24 hours after the last successful logon with AD. After 24 hours the cached credentials are deleted and the domain logon is not longer possible.
TIP:
- The terminal restart or power down will not clear cache. When the terminal is running again, you can logon using cached credentials.
- When a project is downloaded, the credentials cache is cleared and logon ached credentials is not possible. To logon, you need to connect the terminal the Active Directory or use a local user.
