Cut or copy table content

Cut or copy table content within or across
View Designer
projects. Copy table rows or cells from
State Tables
and
Color Tables
. Copy rows from the table on the
Property Definition
tab. Single cells cannot be cut.
Prerequisites
  • Open the source
    View Designer
    project containing the content to copy.
  • If the content is to be pasted into another project, for each project, start an instance of
    View Designer
    and open the target project. Open up to three instances of
    View Designer
    at one time.
To cut or copy table content
  1. Cut or copy the content:
    • To cut a table row, right-click the row to cut and select
      Cut
      . Only an entire row can be cut.
    • To copy a table row or cell, right-click the row or cell to copy and select
      Copy
      . Copy a single cell or a range of cells.
  2. Right-click on the row or cell to paste the content and select
    Paste
    .
    TIP:
    Tips:
    • The yellow star burst Starburst indicates a new row.
    • When pasting an entire row, the destination row must have the same number of columns as the source row.
    • Paste content into cells that have the same type of content.
    • Pasting data copied from an external program into a table is not recommended.
    • Pasting data copied from a table into an external program is supported.
