User-defined alias property for an Add-On Graphic

In this example, alias properties in the definition of an Add-On Graphic appear on each instance of the Add-On Graphic. Entering a value or binding changes the value of the aliased property on an instance of the Add-On Graphic.

The alias property. In this example, the alias is for the LevelColor. Create an alias property by right-clicking the property and selecting
New Alias

Property Definition
tab below the definition of the Add-On Graphic.

The user-defined alias property for the definition of the Add-On Graphic:
  • Name.
    The name of the alias. By default, the name of the alias property in the
    Property Definition
    tab is the name of the property appended with _001 or increment number. Type the name of the property to appear on each instance of the Add-On Graphic. In this example, the alias for the LevelColor is named BeverageColor.
  • Alias For.
    This box automatically specifies the selected graphic element name and property. The format for the alias is ElementName.PropertyName. For example, if the selected graphic element is a mixing hopper and the aliased property is LevelColor, the
    Alias For
    column may contain MixingHopperSide_001.LevelColor.
  • Description.
    An optional description for the alias property. This description appears as a tooltip when hovering over the box in the
    Properties
    window for an instance of the Add-On Graphic.
  • Category
    . The category where the alias property appears in the
    Properties
    window for an instance of the Add-On Graphic.
