Alias a property in an Add-On Graphic
Alias a property in the definition of an Add-On Graphic to specify a unique value for the property on an Add-On Graphic instance. Otherwise, the property does not appear on an instance of the Add-On Graphic. Reuse the Add-On Graphic by changing the value of the aliased property on an instance of an Add-On Graphic.
To alias a property in an Add-On Graphic
- In the definition of the Add-On Graphic, select a graphic element.
- In thePropertieswindow for the selected graphic element, right-click the property to alias and selectNew Alias. This creates an alias property in theProperty Definitiontab below the definition of the Add-On Graphic.TIP:View Designerallows creating an alias for a property only if the property is not bound.
- In theNamecolumn, type the name of the alias to appear in thePropertieswindow of an instance of the Add-On Graphic.TIP:Tips:
- By default, the name of the aliased property in theProperty Definitiontab is the name of the property appended with _001 or increment number.
- TheAlias Forcolumn automatically specifies the selected graphic element name and property. The format for the alias is ElementName.PropertyName. For example, if the selected graphic element is a mixing hopper and the aliased property is LevelColor, theAlias Forcolumn displays MixingHopperSide_001.LevelColor.
- (optional) In theDescriptioncolumn for the aliased property in theProperty Definitiontab, enter a description for the aliased property.
- In theCategorycolumn for the aliased property, type the category in which the aliased property is to appear in thePropertieswindow for an instance of the Add-On Graphic.
- Add instances of the Add-On Graphic to a screen.
- In thePropertieswindow for each instance, expand the category for the aliased property and then enter a value for the property.TIP:Tips:
- Creating more than one alias for the same property of a graphic element is not supported.
- Binding the property of a graphic element or Add-on Graphic instance to an alias of a screen, popup or Add-On Graphic definition is not allowed
Each instance of the Add-On Graphic shows the value of the aliased property on the HMI device.
