Find text in a project

Use
Find All
on the
Find and Replace
dialog box to search and display all properties that match specified criteria. Find text and content such as graphic elements on a screen, popup, data log, or in the definition of an Add-On Graphic.
To find text in a project
  1. Press
    CTRL+F
    .
  2. In the
    Find what
    box, type the text to find, or select the text of a previous search.
    TIP:
    Search text can contain alphanumeric characters and can be full words, fragments of a word, or a single letter or number.
  3. In the
    Find where
    box, select the scope of the search:
    • Entire Project
      . Search the entire open project.
    • Current Tab
      . Search the open screen, popup, data log, or definition of an Add-On Graphic.
    • Selected Graphic Elements.
      Search the selected graphic elements on the open screen, popup, or definition of an Add-On Graphic.
  4. (optional) Narrow the search scope by selecting an option:
    • Match case
    • Find whole words only
  5. Select
    Find All
    . Results appear in the
    Find Results
    window.
    IMPORTANT:
    • To stop the Find and Replace operation, under
      Close
      , select
      Stop Find
      . The
      Stop Find
      button appears briefly and only during the current find and replace operation. Closing the
      Find and Replace
      dialog does not stop the find and replace operation. It continues to run in the background.
TIP:
Tips:
  • To navigate to an entry in the
    Find Results
    window, double-click the entry.
  • To replace a single instance of an entry, navigate to the entry and manually make the necessary changes.
