Move a graphic element
Move graphic elements by using a mouse, a keyboard, or by changing its properties.
To move a graphic element:
- Using the mouse.On the screen, select and drag a graphic element to the desired location.
- Using the keyboard.Select the graphic element to select it.
- To move the graphic element 1 pixel, press the arrow key in the preferred direction.
- To move the graphic element 10 pixels at a time, pressShift+an arrow key.
- Changing the properties of the graphic element.
- Select a graphic element.
- On thePropertieswindow, select thePropertiestab and expand thePosition and Sizecategory.
- Enter any positive number in theXandYproperties:X. Specifies the horizontal coordinate, in pixels, from the upper left corner of the screen to the upper left corner of an unrotated graphic element, or to the center of a rotated graphic element. If the graphic element is in a group, X is relative to the parent.Y. Specifies the vertical coordinate, in pixels, from the upper left corner of screen to the upper left corner of an unrotated graphic element, or to the center of a rotated graphic element. If the graphic element is in a group, X is relative to the parent.TIP:Green lines called Smart Guides appear when moving a graphic element with the mouse to help position the graphic element with precision. Smart Guides do not appear when using the keyboard or the X and Y properties to move a graphic element.
