Draw a line, polyline, or polygon

Use the
Line Tool
 to draw a line, or the
Pen Tool
to draw a polyline, polygon, or line.
To draw a line, polyline, or polygon:
  • In the
    Toolbox
    , select a tool to draw the item:
    • Line.
       Select the
      Line Tool
       LineTool and drag to draw the line.
    • Polyline.
      Select the
      Pen
      Tool
       Icon: View Designer Pen Drawing Tool Icon and select points on the
      screen.
    • Polygon.
      Select the
      Pen
      Tool
       Icon: View Designer Pen Drawing Tool Icon, select points on the screen, and then select the initial point to close the polyline shape.
      TIP:
      Tips:
      • Selecting the
        Pen
        Tool
         Icon: View Designer Pen Drawing Tool Icon and selecting a start and end point draws a line.
      • Use Smart Guides to help position the line.
      • To change the shape of a polyline or polygon, select the sizing handle in the middle of a line segment.
      • To remove a segment from a polyline or polygon, select the sizing handle at the end of the segment.
      • The selected drawing tool remains active until selecting a different drawing tool.
