Select modules and tags

Use the
Select Modules and Tags
 dialog to select modules and tags for the project controller to import and own. The modules and tags selected in the tree view define the associated CIP topology in the project.
Before you begin:
  • Use the
    Select Project Controller
    dialog box to select a project controller.
To select modules and tags:
  1. In the
    Select Modules and Tags
     dialog, the Device Tree View shows the available devices and tags, and the device's possible CIP topologies, for the selected data exchange file. To include a device and its tags in the project, select that device and tags in the desired location in the CIP topology. When selecting a device with child devices and tags, the tree view automatically expands and all available children and tags are selected.
    TIP:
    • If child devices are available in the CIP topology, a triangle shows to the left of the module.
    • A checkmark shows if the device and all the children are selected.
    • A black square shows if a device, but not all the children, is selected.
  2. In the expanded tree, clear devices and tags to exclude them from the project.
  3. Select
    Finish
    to complete controller, modules, and tags selection.
  4. Choose a file name and location and save the project to populate the project.
