Cut, Copy, and Paste in the Tag Editor
Cut, copy, and paste operations can be used on cell text or tags.
- To cut, copy, or paste text, select a cell or cells and then chooseCut, Copy, or Pastefrom theEditmenu. (You can also copy text and paste it into an Excel spreadsheet.) To select multiple cells, simply select the row header cell and drag through multiple rows.
- To cut, copy, or paste tags, select the entire row or rows. This operation is only supported when the controller is offline, since the pasted tag must always be verified if the controller is online.
- To paste tags into a Tag editor, select theCreate Tagrow or select theCreate Tagrow and selectPasteon the main toolbar. The same is also true with tag drag-and-drop functionality. To create new tags by dragging, drop the dragged tags in theCreate Tagrow.IMPORTANT: Use caution when copying and pasting components between different versions of theLogix Designerapplication. The application only supports pasting to the same version or newer version of the application. Pasting to a prior version of the application is not supported. When pasting to a prior version, the paste action may succeed but the results may not be as intended.
NOTE:
You cannot cut, copy, or paste managed tags, such as managed axes or Coordinate Systems. When an axis or Coordinate System is associated to a robot, it might be managed, meaning some parameters are not configurable depending on the robot type. Refer to the specific robot documentation for a list of configurable parameters.
TIP:
- If you want to select the whole table, select cell location (0,0), or chooseSelect Allfrom theEditmenu
- You can cut, copy, or paste tags from the Tag Editor to a rung instruction operand. The easiest way to do this is by tiling the Tag Editor and Ladder Editor horizontally, and then dragging tags from the Tag Editor to an instruction operand.
- You can cut, copy, or paste tags from one controller to another controller that is open in another instance of theLogix Designerapplication.
- You can cut, copy, or paste tags from one scope to another scope.
