Configure PDI instructions

Use the
Advanced
tab to enable the use of the alternative source for PV in Maintenance.
To configure Process Discrete Input (PDI) instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Open the
    Advanced
     tab.
  3. Set the parameters:
    • Substitute PV
      . When the check box is selected, the maintenance commands for selecting substitute PV and input PV are enabled.
    • Follow PV target
      . Use the check box to allow the substitute PV to track the input target value, rather than using the maintenance substitute PV value.
  4. View the read-only parameters:
    • Device state
      . When the
      Logix Designer
       application is online with the controller, the indicator displays the current device state, such as Off, Pulse on, or Out of service.
    • Device issues
      . When the
      Logix Designer
       application is online with the controller, the indicator displays fault conditions, such as Feedback fault or I/O fault.
  5. Select
    Apply
    .
